Everyone knows this film by name even those who haven’t watched one second of it. Many will remember this as the movie that pretty much ended Lindsay Lohan’s acting career…at least so far. In July of 2007 she was arrested due to a DUI charge and that also prevented her from doing any promotion for the film which was released later that weekend, perfect timing! And I was actually thinking to myself: maybe it was no accident either. Lindsay could have caught an early screening and the horridness of it all caused her to go on another drinking binge and the arrest ended up being a blessing in disguise. At any rate the film did come out and received harshly negative reviews overall. Will this review be any different?

The film tells the story of aspiring author and high school student Aubrey Fleming who is abducted and brutally tortured (ahh man BRUTAL) by a sadistic madman. Days later she escapes but remembers little of what happened. She infact completely changes her personality , doesn’t recognize her family, friends or even herself. She now wants to be known as Dakota Moss who we find out later was a character in one of Aubrey’s stories for school. Dakota is the polar opposite of Aubrey, she’s an exotic dancing, foul mouthed jezebel if you will. Anyway, eventually she somehow convinces her assumed parents that the real Aubrey is in grave danger and they must help Dakota save their real daughter from her violent abductor.

Okay, no doubt this story is a total clusterfuck. A lot of it is insanely preposterous, especially the twist ending which should be seen to be believed. It’s almost as if M. Night Shaymalan’s 11 year old nephew wrote the script. The only real enjoyable part about the movie is the strip scenes with the luscious Lindsay Lohan, very well done and even though we don’t get to see everything it was still worth watching. Lindsay received a lot of Razzie awards recently for this movie and deservedly so. However, I can’t really picture any actress pulling off a great performance in a movie that is so ferociously stupid. I felt sort of bad for the rest of the cast as well, as they all seemed as if they knew this movie was going to reek of doo doo. So yeah, ‘I Know Who Killed Me’ isn’t exactly ‘Citizen Kane’…hell it isn’t even ‘Citizen Toxie’. However it does have SOME enjoyable parts mainly consisting of great hiney shots of Ms. Lohan, also Jessica Rose aka lonelygirl15 actually has a supporting role…WTF? At the end of the day this is a film that most folks would want to skip out on, in fact I’m pretty sure the studio should have skipped out on it too.

Sony Pictures brings us the 1080p Blu-Ray version of ‘I Know Who Killed Me’ in its OAR of 2.39:1 which looks overall pretty sharp and colorful…not as good as most newer films but close enough. The audio tracks included on this one are TrueHD 5.1 in English AND French along with the uncompressed PCM audio. The sound was very good and one of the better Blu-Ray’s I’ve heard to date. As far as extras go its pretty bare, we have a full-length strip sequence with Lohan… which happened to be my favorite extra. Along with some deleted scenes and alternate opening/ending. What’s funny is there were no cast/director commentaries or interviews…I guess they had enough humiliation initially.

‘I Know Who Killed Me’ really should never have been greenlit. It was clearly a mistake. Even with the subpar mainstream releases this stands out as a true stinker, luckily for me I love crappy movies and sort of enjoyed this one in the ’so bad its good’ category. For the average movie fans though, steer clear of this one…you don’t want to get a DUI yourself!
