An interview with Evil Dead 2 alumni Kassie Depaiva!

(Q): How did you get started in acting?

(A): Started in Jr. High in the drama club.

(Q): How did you wind up being cast as Bobbie Joe in Evil Dead II?

(A): It was one of the first movie I had auditioned for and I wanted to get more into the acting because I was singing more at the time.

(Q): Can you tell us a little about your role and how it was working on this film?

(A): I was thrilled to have been cast in the role and who knew it would turn out to be a huge cult classic. I had so much fun and Bobby Joe was right up my southern alley.

(Q): There were a lot of cool special effects in Evil Dead II. You had two interesting scenes with the eyeball and being attacked by the woods. Can you tell us a little about how they were done and how it was working with Robert Kurtzman, Greg Nicotero, and Howard Berger?

(A): The special effect team were great and I had the best time working with these guys. They are extremely creative and had great senses of humor.

(Q): How was it working with Sam Raimi, and Bruce Campbell?

(A): Sam was incredible and so talented. I recently sat beside Bruce at the opening night performance of "EVIL DEAD" the musical on Broadway. We talked and laughed about every ones successes. I think Bruce Campbell is so talented. And I could not be happier for Sam and his tremendous success.

(Q): It is coming up on the 20th anniversary of Evil Dead II. Have you heard anything about a reunion and would you be willing to participate ?

(A): Sure I would participate...but haven't heard anything. I can't believe it's been 20 years.

(Q): Did you ever think when you were filming the Evil Dead II that it would have ever become as big of a cult favorite that it is ?

(A): Not in a million years. But I knew it was different and some how in a league of it's own.

(Q): Are you a fan of horror movies and if so what are some of your favorites?

(A): Not really...but after I see how they are made... I'm not as afraid to watch.

(Q): You are also going to be in a upcoming thriller called Undone. Can you tell us a little about the film?

(A): I was a producer on that and starred in it. It is being shopped to festivals and distribution right now. I hope everyone will be able to read more about it on my website...kassiedepaiva.com

(Q): Do you have any other upcoming films or projects you would like to tell us about?

(A): Just really busy with ONE LIFE TO LIVE right now.

(Q): Thank you so much for doing this interview with me for Deadpit.com. Is there anything else you would like to say to the fans?

(A): Let me know where there are fan events for horror flicks...I'd love to meet ya.
