You might have seen Wendy Kremer as the evil southern belle Peaches in Tim Sullivan's 2001 Maniacs. This was her first horror movie and expect to see more of her in the next few years!

Peaches & Kreme!

A Chat with 2001 Maniacs vixen Wendy Kremer!

(Q): How did you get started in acting?

(A): I've always acted in some form or another... My mother was a stage actress and owned a dance studio, so she was very encouraging. I moved to Atlanta after school, and did a lot of theatre there, as well as music videos, commercials, etc.

(Q): I know that you really enjoy horror films. Where you always a fan of them growing up as a kid?

(A): Oh yes, but again, all due credit goes to my mother. She was a huge horror/suspense freak, and needed a partner in crime. So, I was exposed to gems like "Alien," "The Shining," and "Jaws" at an early age. My first vivid horror memory is seeing the Vincent Price "House of Wax" in 3D in Chicago with my family as a child... and being so scared I had to sit in the lobby for a while.

(Q): What are some of your favorite horror films and what are some of your least favorites?

(A): I like a whole range of horror films, from "The Shining," to "The Ring." I just appreciate a movie that's really well done. I love "Psycho" and "A Nightmare on Elm Street." It's so hard to narrow it down! I can't really say which ones I don't appreciate - I have too many friends who are rabid about their favorites, and I don't want to get them started!!

(Q): Is there anyone from your favorite horror films that you would really like to be in a film with?

(A): I was fortunate enough to work with Robert Englund first, so I'm a bit spoiled. There are just so many folks I'd love the chance to work with: James Wan, Jeffrey Reddick, Reggie Bannister, Tony Todd, John Landis (although he did work a bit on "2001 Maniacs"), Wes Craven...

(Q): How did you get cast as Peaches in 2001 Maniacs and can you tell us a little about the role?

(A): My agent sent me to the audition, and I was originally supposed to read for "Joey." I knew I wasn't right for that, and thankfully Tim saw me as "Peaches." He had me memorize her scene right then and there, and I unleashed the "penis flytrap" on him. It was pretty awesome -- unfortunately, they couldn't find my audition footage for the DVD. "Peaches" is a Southern belle with bite, if you will... I like to refer to her as The Mayor's pit bull -- she's beautiful to look at, but stand back. She's a biter.

(Q): Do you have any funny stories from the filming of 2001 Maniacs?

(A): The production had been "cursed" by a group of Civil War re-enactors, and on top of that, it was widely speculated that our set was haunted (Westville, in very Southern Georgia, is a park made up of authentic 1800's buildings collected in a sort of town setting). Accordingly, a lot of very strange things happened during the shoot. During night shoots, everybody was a little on edge already, and I happened to see Robert's face in a window of one of the houses. He made an awful "Freddy" face and scared the crap out of me. He thought it was pretty funny.

(Q): What were the teeth made out of and did you get to keep them after the filming was done?

(A): The teeth (just a simple dental mold) are somewhere in limbo, and I'm still trying to find them. The good folks at SOTA have offered to make me a new set, if we can only find the molds...

(Q): What was you favorite line or scene from the film?

(A): My favorite line was lost in editing... "Mama calls this my penis flytrap." Says it all.

(Q): You have done a couple horror conventions already. What do you think about them?

(A): I absolutely love the conventions. I dig meeting the fans, as well as the other horror professionals. It's a good time all around!

(Q): Do you have any upcoming movies you could tell us about?

(A): Ahhh... still in the works!!

(Q): Would you like to tell us about your website or anything else you are involved with?

(A): www.WendyKremer.com - you can get cool glossies, posters and "2001 Maniacs" t-shirts, as well as get the latest news on what I'm up to. There's also a cool message board that I check all the time. You can also catch me on MySpace at www.MySpace.com/KarmaDiva.

(Q): Is there anything you would like to say to the fans?

(A): Thank you for all of your support and appreciation!!! xoxo
