Raine In Blood

A Chat with newcomer Raine Brown!

(Q): How did you get started acting and was it something you always wanted to do?

(A): I have always loved acting and have always enjoyed creating. I love to delve into characters and love to play in someone else’s shoes for some time. I can’t imagine my life without that outlet.

(Q): You were in Dante Tomaselli's Satan's Playground and Horror. Can you tell us a little about the films and your roles ?

(A): Horror is a very surrealistic dreamlike film where I play a girl who escapes from a Juvenile drug rehab center. Satan’s Playground is a horror thriller about the legend of the Jersey Devil; I have the opening cameo where I play a street prostitute that runs into danger in the pine barrens.

(Q): How was it working with Dante Tomaselli ?

(A): Dante is amazing. He has such vision and knows exactly what he is looking for in each frame of film. He love visuals and sound and gives such attention to detail. I love working with him. He is very good to his actors and really makes you part of his “family”. I can’t wait to work with him again in Salem.

(Q): You were also in Aunt Rose can you tell us about the film and your role in it?

(A): I play Toni, the “friend” of the family’s daughter. I really loved this role because I got to explore a character that is so different from me. I worked with Joshua Nelson, who wrote, produced, and starred in this film. I had a great working experience and loved that he wrote a horror script with intricate characters.

(Q): Aunt Rose had few interesting death scenes in it. You had an interesting death scene. Can you tell us a little about it and how it was done?

(A): Well, both Joshua and I are a little disappointed because in the version that was distributed, they toned down a lot of the killings. They edited my two death scenes so they would be less violent. I don’t want to spoil the whole death scene too much- you got to see the movie to find out- but they did use a cast of my head to shoot it. I still have that head in my attic somewhere!!!

(Q): Do you have any funny stories from when you filmed Aunt Rose?

(A): Well more surrealistic then funny. My death scene with the fake head was filmed very early in the morning after a long day of filming. It is not recommended watching bad things happen to you face when you are exhausted. Very frightening.

(Q): You have been in quite a few horror movies now. Were you always a fan of Horror films when you were growing up? What are some of your favorites?

(A): I didn’t really know that much about horror before I started doing the films. They always scare me and I get nightmares from some! I would have to say the classics are my favorites. I don’t like the remakes at all- why remake something that was awesome before. However, I don’t think I would turn it down if I was asked to star in it.

(Q): You will be in the upcoming horror film Timo Rose's Barricade which looks good from the previews I've seen. Can you tell us a little about it?

(A): Yes, Barricade is planned to be released sometime in February of 2007. I am very excited for it! I play the lead, Nina, who is a young mother and actress struggling to get her daughter back. She goes to Germany to be with her friend, played by Joe Zaso, and is trying to get away from the drama of her life for a while. They decided to go camping and there are evil things killing in the woods. We had a lot of fun shooting.

(Q): Out of all the movies you have been in so far what was your favorite role you played and why?

(A): Wow- I know this is the easy way out but I love all of them for different reasons. Both personally and professionally each character and film has brought either people or experiences into my life that I would not change for anything. I am lucky to be doing what I love with people who I really respect.

(Q): You have a few more movies coming up. Would you like to tell us a little about them?

(A): As of now, I am slated to shoot 100 Tears with Manic Entertainment in the beginning of the new year. Then in the spring, I should be shooting Emeralds of Darkness with JoCo films, and also a project with Cinema Images Productions to be shot in Italy. Then in the summer I am slated to shoot a few projects with Burning Ground productions: Pacific Grove and Relations, and possibly another one in the fall. Hopefully I will get to do a stage show sometime in there too!

(Q): Is there anything else you are involved with you would like to tell the fans about?

(A): I am also slated to be involved with both Dante Tomasselli’s next project Salem and also Joshua Nelson’s next untitled project. Further I will be doing another film with Bob Stock Productions who did Angel’s Blade. Also, many of the films that I have done have recently become available to buy or rent (Amazon, Best Buy, Netflix, Blockbuster). The titles include the aforementioned Horror, Satan’s Playground, and Aunt Rose, but also Maya’s soul and the soon to be released Street Revenge and Barricade.

(Q): Thanks so much for doing this interview with me! Is there any thing you would like to say?

(A): Thank you for asking me! For project updates and more info on theses projects check out my official website www.rainebrown.com
